Mrs. Alaska United States 2014, Erica Chilla with husband Shawn and sons Easton and Ace.
Erica Chilla of Soldotna, Alaska, is proud to represent her great state as Mrs. Alaska United States 2014.
Shortly after Erica’s youngest son, 18 month old Ace, was born, he was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), a disease which causes frequent seizures and brain tumors. Because TSC is so rare, there has not been enough funding for much research. Erica’s platform of TSC Awareness will bring additional attention to this disease, and she hopes to raise additional resources for financing research to give others a better understanding and to one day find a cure for her son and others with TSC. Erica is actively involved in the TSC Connect Program, which works with individuals and families struggling with a TSC diagnosis.
Erica is the author of over 13 books, and recently completed a children’s book called Can I be a Cowboy?, which is based on the life of her oldest son, 3 year old Easton, who dreams of becoming a cowboy and is learning integrity in the process. Erica has an Early Childhood education, and she has lived in Alaska for over 20 years.
She enjoys gluten-free baking, writing, and outdoor adventures with her husband of 8 years, Shawn, and her two children.
